Assistant Softball Coach/Pitching Coach

Overview

Indiana Tech is seeking to fill a Part-Time Softball Coaching Position. Primary on-field responsibility will be the position player, and assistant with hitters. Assist in the planning, development and administration of all phases of the softball program. Assist with the organization and supervision of practices and game management. Maintain knowledge and remain current regarding all appropriate NAIA, WHAC, Department of Athletics, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures. Assist in preparation and implementation of camps and clinics. Responsible in the coordination of team and individual travel for the purpose of team competition and player recruitment. Assist in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the softball program. Assist in scheduling games and tournaments for the softball program. Responsible for fundraising activities and public relations events.

Description

Qualified candidates will have minimum education requirements of a Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree is preferred with prior coaching or playing experience at the high school and/or collegiate level and working knowledge of NAIA softball rules. Specifically the successful candidate must know and be able to instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of softball pitching. Candidates must have a valid Driver's License and must be insurable as a driver for the institution. This position requires the ability to teach critical softball pitching skills, regulations, strategies, and training techniques, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various groups, both orally and in writing. The Assistant Coach must provide effective leadership to student-athletes to encourage successful academic development and competitive performance. Candidates will need to work a flexible schedule; evening and weekends necessary.
