Student Employment

Orange Card Applications will be accepted starting August 1st.

If you're a student looking for an on-campus job, please follow the steps below. All current student job listings can be found below.

Step 1: Obtain your Orange Card - Approval to work on campus

Choose one of the following checklists to complete:

• Orange Card checklist – new students to campus employment.
• Orange Card checklist for returning students – worked on campus from 2012-2013.
• Orange Card checklist for international students – new international students to campus employment.
• Orange Card checklist for returning international students - worked on campus from 2012-2013.

Additional forms (if needed):

• Form W4 (2012): Federal Employee Withholding Allowance Certificate
• State of Indiana Employee Withholding Exemption and County Status Certificate
• Direct Deposit authorization form

All materials can be turned in, in person, to the Career Center in Andorfer 229 or mailed to the Indiana Tech Career Center Attention: Jennifer Schuler, 1600 E. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46803.  Please be aware that if mailed, all check list materials MUST be included and fully complete.  Incomplete packets will be destroyed.

Step 2: Once you have obtained your Orange Card

Step 3: Interview for positions

• Interview tips
• Write a Thank You note

Once you have the job:

• Complete your I9 with your direct supervisor
• Use I9 checklist for a list of common acceptable documents
• Determine how many hours per week you can work using the Work Study Hours Available Worksheet.

Step 4: Evaluate your experience and see how you're doing

• Complete the Student Evaluation of Campus Employment Experience and return it to the Career Center, Andorfer 229.
• Go over your Department Evaluation of Student Employee with your supervisor each November and April.
