Indiana Tech Law School invites applications for the position of Reference Librarian/Assistant Professor

 

Indiana Tech Law School is a college within the Indiana Institute of Technology (“Indiana Tech”), which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The law school will welcome its first students in August of 2013, and we are seeking qualified candidates for this position in our law library.
Indiana Tech Law School is seeking two Reference Librarian/Assistant Professors. These positions report to the Associate Dean for Library Affairs and are responsible for providing reference, research and bibliographical instruction to the faculty, students, staff and patrons of the Law School Library in a team-based environment. As tenure- track law library faculty, these positions are expected to satisfy the criteria for tenure and promotion within the Law School Library, including teaching law students, engaging in productive scholarly research, participating in service activities inside and outside of the Law School, and demonstrating excellent librarianship. These positions will participate within the first-year Lawyering Skills course by teaching legal research.
Solid and innovative legal reference instruction and technology skills are imperative. Qualified candidates must possess a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and a Master’s Degree in Library or Information Studies from ALA-accredited library school or equivalent. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently, as well as with a team, exemplary research ability, excellent organization and time management skills and a demonstrated capability for presenting ideas to a variety of audiences.
