Overview
Law School Circulation Manager

Indiana Tech Law School invites applications for the position of Circulation Manager

 

Indiana Tech Law School is a college within the Indiana Institute of Technology (“Indiana Tech”), which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The law school will welcome its first students in August of 2013, and we are seeking qualified candidates for this position in our law library.

 

The Circulation Manager will report directly to the Associate Dean for Library Affairs and is responsible for guiding the daily operation of the Circulation Department which includes the assignment of duties to circulation staff and student workers.  The Manager must be customer service focused and demonstrate a courteous and helpful manner toward all law library patrons and staff.  The Circulation Manager will perform interlibrary loan duties using OCLC, sending requests for materials required by faculty, staff and students, receiving requests from other libraries, determining which requests should be filled, and maintaining statistics.  Oversees stack maintenance, including shelving, shelf-reading, replacement of superseded materials and shifting of collection.  Oversees maintenance of copiers, printers, microform readers, including service calls and supplies; replaces paper and toner in copiers as required; fixes paper jams and other problems with copiers and notifies technology personnel of any problems with computers.

 

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of college and 2 years of library experience within the circulation department may substitute.  Applicant must possess and demonstrate knowledge and the ability to use library software and databases.

Law School Technical Services Librarian

Indiana Tech Law School invites applications for the position of Technical Services Librarian

 

Indiana Tech Law School is a college within the Indiana Institute of Technology (“Indiana Tech”), which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The law school will welcome its first students in August of 2013, and we are seeking qualified candidates for this position in our law library.

 

The successful candidate will work with the Associate Dean for Library Affairs and will perform and/or supervise resource management and bibliographic control functions.  This position will ultimately be responsible for the planning, organization, policy development, implementation and direction of all areas of technical services for the law library and will participate in Collection Development, Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Processing.  Must be able to read and interpret bibliographic records, understand and apply principles of descriptive and subject cataloging rules, utilize cataloging tools and the standards that govern each, and apply relevant national and international bibliographic control standards (AACRII, MARC, Metadata, Dublin Core, etc.). 

 

The Law School seeks applications from candidates with a minimum of ALA accredited MLS or MLIS or its equivalent, with substantial law library experience or J.D. strongly preferred, including 3-5 years experience working in technical services; knowledge of issues, emerging trends and technologies in technical services especially as it applies to an academic law library.  Candidates must also be familiar with current collection development practices.

Cataloging Specialist

Indiana Tech Law School invites applications for the position of Cataloging Specialist

 

Indiana Tech Law School is a college within the Indiana Institute of Technology (“Indiana Tech”), which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The law school will welcome its first students in August of 2013, and we are seeking qualified candidates for this position in our law library.

 

The Cataloging Specialist will report to the Technical Services Librarian and will perform cataloging of library material by inputting data, creating, editing, modifying, and updating bibliographical records.  The incumbent will also create and maintain databases, perform original and copy cataloging for library materials in all formats, attend training classes to remain current on new cataloging rules and interpretations and maintain and promote characteristics of excellent customer service.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of experience in the field.  The incumbent will also possess very strong communication skills, will be able to work independently as well as with a team and will have the capability to perform cataloging for library materials in all forms including AACR2, MARC, LCSH.
