The Better World Fund

Helping students help others

The Better World Fund was established to help current students with funding for projects, trips, or activities thatcontribute to and improve the world around us. The funding is a resource for our students to learn about and demonstrate civic responsibility.

The Better World Fund was inpsired by John Canterbury's request for help funding a service trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The university expects to award two or three grants per year through the Better World Fund, and recipients will be chosen by the president and executive vice president for finance and administration.

To apply for a grant from the Better World Fund, students must:

  • Submit a request form, budget, and essay
  • Be registered at Indiana for the semester before and after the project dates
  • Present their experience at a campus forum after the project is completed

The deadline to submit requests for summer 2014 projects is March 1, 2014.
