Indiana Tech Parking Policy
In order to accommodate our student, faculty, staff, and visitor parking needs, Indiana Tech has adopted a detailed parking policy. All students, faculty, and staff will be required to have a valid parking permit affixed on the driver’s side upper left-hand corner of the back window. Student permits may be obtained through online registration at www.indianatech.edu/permits and employee permits may be obtained at www.indianatech.edu/employeepermits. Each must be renewed annually.
There are two types of student permits available: residential and commuter. Each permit has designated lots in which they are valid and is explained in more detail on the parking permit webpage. In addition, the parking lot entrances are clearly marked with the specific permit designation. Visitors may only park in designated parking lots or specifically allocated visitor spaces.
This policy is effective during the normal academic calendar (late August to mid-May), from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will be strictly enforced. During weekends, semester breaks, holiday breaks, athletic events, and special university events, the enforcement will be relaxed.
Student violations of the Indiana Tech parking policy will result in tickets being issued to the vehicle. The following progression will be used for violations:
- 1st ticket: $50 fine
- 2nd ticket: $100 fine
- 3rd ticket: $150 fine, wheel lock applied, and vehicle towed from campus
