Greetings and Welcome to Indiana Tech!
As our 2012-2013 academic year comes to a close, the scents of spring flowers and cut grass are a reminder that we will be sending off hundreds of Indiana Tech graduates to continue to grow and prosper with degrees ranging from associate level to doctorates.
Our 92nd Commencement will be held at the Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, May 18, beginning at 10:30 a.m. It will be an honor and my pleasure to welcome Mr. John D. Zeglis, retired chairman and CEO of AT&T Wireless Services as this year’s speaker. He is also the founder and principal owner of the Fort Wayne NBA D-League team, the Mad Ants. Mr. Zeglis has a long track record of business and leadership success, and we are very much looking forward to hearing him share his insights with our graduates.
In addition to Commencement, each spring brings many opportunities to honor our students for their achievements. Our calendars are happily filled with events such as a lunch honoring students who have excelled in their field of study or been chosen for Who’s Who; the induction ceremony for Alpha Chi honor society; the celebration of the winners of our Outstanding Graduates awards; and our second year to celebrate student-athletes being inducted to our chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.
Even as we look back and celebrate the accomplishments of our students this year, there is much to be excited about in our future. We will be breaking ground for the soon-to-be “crown jewel” of our campus, the new academic center. Indiana Tech Law School will welcome its charter class of students in August, and we will host a dedication ceremony for the school during Homecoming.
With so much going on at Indiana Tech, it would be great to have you visit. We'd love to see you and share more exciting news.
