Financial Markets & Institutions
Prerequisite: FIN 3600. This course applies principles of finance to understand modern financial markets. The course examines why financial markets exist, the pricing function markets perform and how financial institutions serve those markets. It covers the securities traded in each market and how financial institutions participate in the financial intermediation as they connect individuals and organizations to capital markets. Course also examines the functions, practices and regulatory requirements of various types of financial institutions. 3 credits. (3 plus 0)
