| MA 1000 | | Foundations of College Mathematics | | This course prepares students to take MA 1010 or MA1025. Topics include: computation with integers and rational numbers, using correct order of operations, ratios, and proportions. The student also learns percent concepts and solving equations involving percentages. Other topics covered include exponents, simplifying and solving equations, and inequalities with one variable. Linear equation problem solving strategies are emphasized in the solution of application problems Problem solving is integrated throughout and appropriate use of calculators is expected. |
