Indiana Tech Law School

The Indiana Tech Law School will open in Fort Wayne in fall 2013.

The university has hired Peter C. Alexander as the founding dean of the university's law school. Curriculum details and admissions requirements are being worked on, while specialties under consideration include leadership, international law, and intellectual property law.

Prospective students interested in enrolling in fall 2013 are encouraged to contact the admissions office by completing our law school interest form to stay informed as more details become available.

Indiana Tech officials announced on Tuesday that the university will build a 70,000-square-foot facility on its main campus to house its law school. Read the news release.

When will the law school open?

The first class of students will begin in the fall of 2013.

How many students will be admitted?

Our goal is to begin with a first-year class of 100 students.

Can students apply now?

We expect to begin accepting applications in 2012.

Although we are not currently accepting applications, prospective students can complete an information request below and be added to our mailing list. We’ll share news and updates about the law school as soon as more details become available. Formal admissions policies and procedures are currently being developed.

Where will it be located?

The university is exploring a variety of locations in downtown Fort Wayne.

Will the law school be accredited?

The law school will be established according to the American Bar Association Standards for Approval of Law Schools. The law school can then apply for provisional approval by the ABA after being in operation for one year. Provisional approval lasts for three years before ABA considers full approval.

Will part-time or online options be offered?

The dean will determine specifics of the program, including full time vs. part time options. There will likely be some online components, but the American Bar Association has restrictions on the number of online credits allowed.

What will tuition be?

Tuition is projected to be approximately $28,500 in the first year.
