FORT WAYNE, IN- Indiana Tech Athletic Director Jeff Walker is pleased to announce that Kirsta Solberg has been named assistant athletic director at Indiana Tech. Coach Solberg will add her new duties to her role as head volleyball coach and director of the Wellness Center. She will also serve as the athletic department’s senior women’s administrator.
Solberg was a star volleyball player at IPFW and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 2004. She played volleyball professionally in Europe and returned to IPFW to earn her master’s in business administration in 2007.
Solberg was named the Warriors head volleyball coach in fall of 2007. Since then, the team has won two WHAC Championships (2008 and 2009) and she has been named Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009. The Warriors under Coach Solberg’s guidance have advanced to the NAIA National Tournament twice within the past two years, and this year the team advanced to the single elimination round of the tournament before bowing out to Azusa Pacific.
