Fort Wayne, Ind.—Indiana Tech will add wrestling to its growing lineup of intercollegiate athletic teams in the 2011-12 academic year.
“We’re growing as a university in a variety of ways,” said Athletic Director Andy Jugan. “The addition of wrestling as a varsity sport fits in nicely with our efforts to become more comprehensive in the programs and opportunities that we offer to our students.”
The university plans to name a coach for the program within the next few weeks. Students interested in competing on Indiana Tech’s wrestling team can fill out a prospect form online at www.IndianaTech.edu/athletics/wrestling
With the addition of wrestling, Indiana Tech will have 20 varsity sports teams (baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s bowling, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s volleyball, and wrestling) as well as competitive cheer and dance teams.
