Rock Island, IL – The Indiana Tech men’s and women’s bowling teams recently competed at the Isyl Leatherneck Classic going up against some of the top teams in the country. On both the men’s and women’s side, three of the Top 5 teams in the country participated with the #1 ranked Webber International team winning in the men’s and 3rd ranked Robert Morris won for the women.
The men’s A team finished in 26th place and the B team was right behind them in 29th place, while the women’s team finished in 25th place.
Sophomore Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) led the Warriors finishing in 17th place overall with a 204.50 average and a high-game of 243. Jalen White (Lansing, MI/Lansing Catholic) placed 89th with an average of 209.80 for the tournament, and bettered his previous game-high with a 238.
Ian Maurer (North Canton, OH/Hoover) paced the B team with a 187.00 average, good enough for 66th place overall. Shawn Reuille (Fort Wayne, IN/Snider) was right behind Maurer in 72nd place with a 185.67 average and a high-game of 220.
Freshman Mary Woehnker (Kendallville, IN/East Noble) and junior Alicia Bowman (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) paced the women’s team, finishing in 74th and 75th place, both averaging 151.17. Woehnker threw a new personal best game-high of 203.
The Warriors will be back in action on December 27-28 at the Rotogrip Keystone Quaker Classic, followed by the Nittany Lion Kegler Classic on December 29-30.
