South Bend, IN – The Warrior bowling teams competed against some of their toughest competition yet last weekend at the Blue and Gold Classic in South Bend, IN. The field included 71 teams on the men’s side and 41 on the women’s with several NAIA Top 10 teams represented. Wichita State swept the tournament, winning with the men’s and women’s teams.
The men’s A Team finished 55th overall led by Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) who finished 64th with a pin total of 1,764 for a 196 per game average. Jalen White (Lansing, MI/Lansing Catholic) placed 160th with a 1,559 pin total, giving him a 194.88 per game average.
The Warriors B Team placed 63rd overall. Brent Lumbrezer (Swanton, OH/Swanton) paced the B Team with a total pinfall of 1,584, giving him a 176 per game average. Logan Hoover (Roanoke, IN/Columbia City) followed with a 1,422 and 177.75 average.
Alicia Bowman (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) led the women’s team and came in 62nd individually with a pin total of 1,548 for a 172 average and Mary Woehnker (Kendallville, IN/East Noble) placed 89th, finishing with a 1,462 total pinfall. Erin Tigler bowled a new season-high game of 190 with a 1,156 total to finish in 154th place.
The Warriors return to action on February 5-6 at the McKendree Baker Challenge in Fairview Hieghts, IL.
