Fort Wayne, IN – Indiana Tech rose from 39th place in the first spring standings of the NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup to 33rd place in the final standings released on June 17. The Warriors tallied a total of 344.5 total points during the 2010-11 athletic year, piling up 206 points this past spring with the Tech baseball team finishing in 11th place, the women’s golf ended in 23rd, the women’s track & field team in 6th, and the men’s track & field team in 26th.
The Warriors are the second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference team in the final standings, right behind Cornerstone University who stands in 28th place with 385.0 points.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 12 sports – six women’s and six men’s.
