Kettering, OH – The Indiana Tech bowling teams continue to improve as the season carries on with six Warriors finishing in the top-50 overall, the most so far this season. The Warrior men and women both placed ninth at the 2011 Raider Classic, which was the best finish for the men since the opening weekend and the for the women’s team’s top finish so far.
Juniors Jaiden Metzger (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider) and Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) paced the men, finishing 19th and 34th overall out of the 243 person field. Metzger piled up 1005 total pins with a 201.0 five game average while Henry collected 968 pins carrying a 193.6 average over the five games. Senior R.J. Weick (Ft. Wayne, IN/Elmhurst) also finished in the top-50 in 47th place with 953 total pins and an average of 190.6.
The women also placed three in the top-50, including freshman Chelsea Naylor (Grandville, MI/Grandville), senior Alicia Bowman (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central), and freshman Erin Ogden (Auburn, IN/DeKalb). Naylor grabbed 30th place after picking up 901 total pins with a 180.2 five game average. Bowman finished with 861 pins and took 44th while Ogden grabbed 49th place ending with 845 pins.
The Warriors are back in action at the National Team Match Games in Fairview Heights, Illinois on November 25-26.
