Fort Wayne, IN – As part of the new Warrior Pride program, each month the athletic department will name one male and one female athlete the Warrior of the Month. Athletes can earn recognition for their hard work on the field, excellence in the classroom, or being active in their community.
The Warrior of the Month Award winners for the month of November are Aaron Belcher of the men’s cross country team and Baily Tom of the softball team.
Aaron Belcher, a sophomore from Mooresville, Indiana, was a Second Team All-Conference performer for the Warriors this season and also qualified as an individual for the 56th Annual NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championship. At Nationals, he completed the 8k course in a lifetime best of 26:04. In addition, Belcher is currently a Dean’s list student with a 3.94 GPA for his career.
Baily Tom, a sophomore outfielder from Monroe, Michigan, is a triple major (Therapeutic Recreation, Business, and Sports Management) and a Dean’s list student with a 4.0 GPA. She is a student ambassador and is very involved in the community. Tom coach’s 5th and 6th grade girls basketball at Canterbury and volunteers at Erin’s House and the Community Harvest Food Bank. Later this month, Tom will be going with several other Tech athletes to Adams Elementary School to help volunteer in the school’s Blessings in a Backpack program.
