Fort Wayne, Ind. – As part of the new Warrior Pride program, each month the athletic department will name one male and one female athlete the Warrior of the Month. Athletes can earn recognition for their hard work on the field, excellence in the classroom, or being active in their community.
The Warrior of the Month Award winners for the month of February are Rodney Bartholomew of the men’s basketball team and Chloe Brooks of the women’s track team.
Rodney Bartholomew, a senior from Port Sulphur, Louisiana, was named the WHAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and earned his second straight 1st Team All-Conference selection. He led the team averaging 17.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Rodney ranked 1st in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.8), 2nd in total rebounds (341), 3rd in total rebounds per game (11.4), and 10th in field goal percent (.608). He was also named the NAIA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on January 31.
Chloe Brooks, a sophomore from Elkhart, Indiana, finished 2nd in three events at the WHAC championships (all three were to her own teammate Adella King). She qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 60, 200, 400, and 4x400, where she earned All-American status in the 200, 400, and 4x400. Chloe was named to the WHAC Champions of Character team and had a first semester GPA of 3.2, her best since arriving at Tech. She is also a praise dancer at her local church, is heavily involved with FCA here at Tech, and is helping to form a witnessing group here on campus.
