Georgia State Star Picked to Lead Women's Basketball

Ft. Wayne, IN -- Indiana Tech has hired former Georgia State standout Rodney Hamilton as head coach of the women’s basketball team.

 

Hamilton’s previous coaching experience includes being an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Southeast Missouri State, an associate coach for the men’s team at Crichton College, and head coach for the boys’ team at Westside High School in Memphis, Tenn.

 

As a student-athlete, Hamilton was the first player to have his jersey retired at Georgia State University. He holds the university’s records for scoring (1,515 points), free throw percentage (.838), assists (535), steals (212), and games started (105).

 

Hamilton participated in the Atlanta Hawks free agent camp in 1998 and went on to play professionally in Europe from 1998 to 2001.

 

Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Georgia State University in 1998, and Master of Arts in Teaching from Christian Brothers University in 2003.
