Fort Wayne, Ind. – The NAIA has announced the 2011-12 Scholar Team Awards and of the 741 teams recognized, 11 Indiana Tech teams received the honor.
Tech’s 11 teams led the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), which saw five members combine to have 30 teams earn the award. The Warrior women’s tennis team also posted the top GPA for the conference at 3.68.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.
The 11 Warrior teams that received the award were:
Women’s Tennis (3.68)
Volleyball (3.59)
Women’s Golf (3.44)
Softball (3.29)
Women’s Cross Country (3.27)
Women’s Soccer (3.21)
Wrestling (3.12)
Men’s Cross Country (3.11)
Women’s Basketball (3.08)
Baseball (3.05)
Women’s Track & Field (3.03)
