Fairview Heights, Ill. – The Indiana Tech bowling teams competed against many of the best squads in the country at the National Collegiate Team Match Games over the weekend in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
The men’s team finished 24th out of the 34 team field while the women’s team placed 20th of 25 teams.
Freshman Quinton Burnett (Flint, MI/Carman-Ainsworth) turned in the best performance of his young collegiate career, collecting 1261 pins to finish in 11th place overall. Burnett averaged a 210.2 over six games with a high-score of 241.
Seniors Jaiden Metzger (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider) and Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) followed in 107th and 146th place respectively. Metzger picked up 1020 for a 170.0 average and Henry finished with 856 pins over five games for a 171.2 average.
Leading the women’s team was sophomore Jenna Shaffer (Sidney, OH/Sidney), finishing in 74th place. Shaffer piled up 998 pins over six games for a 166.3 average with a high-game of 203. Freshman Emalee Wiser (Ft. Wayne, IN/Northrop) placed 104th with 801 pins over five games for a 160.2 average.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the WHAC Jamboree #3 hosted by Lawrence Tech University at Country Lanes in Southfield, Michigan.
