Southfield, Mich. – The Indiana Tech bowling teams had another solid showing at a conference event with both the men’s and women’s squads finishing in second place at WHAC Jamboree #3 hosted by Lawrence Tech at Country Lanes on Saturday.
The University of Northwestern Ohio finished in first place on the men’s side and Davenport University walked away as the women’s winner.
Senior Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) captured first place for the men after compiling 882 pins. Henry averaged a 220.50 over four games and posted the highest score of the day with a 258.
Joining Henry in the top-10 for the Warriors were Devin Arick (Columbia City, IN/Columbia City), Jaiden Metzger (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider), and William Bayliss (Wabash, IN/Wabash). Arick and Metzger tied for fourth place with 781 pins and a 195.25 average while Bayliss landed in 10th with 744 total pins and a 186.00 average.
Freshman Rachel Atkins (Columbia City, IN/Columbia City) grabbed the top overall spot in the women’s competition. Atkins racked up 788 pins to average a 197.00 over four games.
The Tech women also placed four in the top-10. Following Atkins were Alicia Bowman (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central), Alyssa Prickett (Huntington, IN/Huntington North), and Jenna Shaffer (Sidney, OH/Sidney) in 8th-10th place. Bowman picked up 697 pins, Prickett totaled 684, and Shaffer finished with 680. Prickett also had the top score of the tournament with a 236.
The Warriors are off until Dec. 27-28 when they travel to Allentown, Pennsylvania for the Keystone Quaker Classic followed by the Lehigh Valley Classic on Dec. 29-30.
