RESULTS | ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech bowling teams competed at the WHAC Bowling Jamboree No. 1 hosted by Siena Heights University at Lenawee Rec Center on Saturday. The men’s and women’s teams each finished fourth in the seven team tournament.
The men’s team finished with 7,095 pins which was 100 behind third place Lawrence Tech. Davenport University took home first place after totaling 7,776 pins.
Tech’s Devin Arick (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) finished third overall with 816 total pins while finishing fourth in average with a 204 over four games, including a high game of 220. Senior Jaiden Metzger (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider) finished ninth overall with 785 total pins and a 196.3 average.
Kyle Koss (North Las Vegas, Nev./Legacy) and Tyler Krepp (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North) led the Warriors reserve squad, placing 25th and 28th. Koss picked up 724 pins while Krepp tallied 710.
On the women’s side, the Warriors were fourth against the varsity squads, but Tech finished fifth overall behind the Warriors reserve team. Tech “A” totaled 6,368 while Tech “B” tallied 6,389. Davenport completed the sweep of the first Jamboree with 7,211 total pins.
Rachel Atkins (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) was the top finisher for the Orange and Black, finishing ninth with 737 total pins while carrying a 184.3 average across four games. Brooke Copenhaver (Auburn, Ind./DeKalb) also finished in the top-20 with 682 total pins and an average of 170.5.
Mason Rhodes (Columbia City, Ind./Columbia City) paced the Tech “B” squad with a first place finish, tallying 814 total pins and a four-game average of 203.5. It was Rhodes first event of the year and she defeated Daven[prts Chyanne Hinns by 10 pins.
The Warrior bowling teams return to the lanes in two weeks when they travel to Lafayette, Ind. to take part in the Boilermaker Classic on Oct. 26-27.
