RESULTS | FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech bowling teams competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Bowling Jamboree No. 3 hosted by Lawrence Tech at Country Lanes on Saturday. The men’s varsity squad finished fourth with the women’s team finishing fifth in the seven-team tournament with the men’s junior varsity finishing fifth while the women’s junior varsity finished second.
The men’s varsity team collected 6,663 pins in the jamboree, in 7.2 games they averaged 925.42 pins per game with Davenport winning the event with 7,220 pins with Lawrence Tech second (6,723) and Northwestern Ohio (6,685) finishing third. Indiana Tech junior varsity finished with 5,993 pins with Northwestern Ohio winning the event with 6,777 pins.
Mitch McGee led the Warriors with 854 total pins across four games, averaging 213.5 per game, finishing fourth overall, just 42 pins behind individual winner, Elliot Arnold. Cody Niblock was the only other varsity to finish in the top half of the 78-player field as he knocked down 686 pins for a four-game average of 171.5.
Conversely, Tyler Krepp led the junior varsity squad with a 21st-place finish with 745 total pins and an average of 186.25. Bryce Leming and Alex Walters each finished just outside the top-39 as Leming was 40th with 663 pins while Walters was 42nd with 630 pins.
The women’s varsity team tallied 6,027 pins in 7.2 games for an average of 837.08 with Davenport winning the event with 6,517 total pins while Siena Heights (6,369) placed second and Lawrence Tech (6,303) finished third. Tech’s junior varsity team took second in their event with 5,712 total pins, 32 pins behind Davenport.
Mary Woehnker continued to bowl well, placing fifth with 759 total pins and a four-game average of 189.75. She was joined in the top-20 by teammates Emalee Wiser and Brooke Copenhaver who finished 14th and 16th, respectively. Wiser finished with 701 total pins while Copenhaver knocked down 699 pins in four games.
Alyssa Prickett finished just 12 pins behind Woehnker to lead the junior varisty team, placing sixth with 747 pins while Jenna Shaffer and Katie Weaver each finished in the top-25. Shaffer finished 22nd with 680 pins in four games with Weaver right behind her in 23rd with 674 pins.
Tech returns to the lanes Dec. 27-30 when they travel to Allentown, Pa. to take part in the Keystone Quaker Classic (12/27-28) and the Lehigh Valley Classic (12/29-30).
