Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men’s bowling team placed three individuals in the top-10 on their way to winning WHAC Jamboree #2 hosted by Aquinas College at Lincoln Lanes on Saturday.
The women’s team also had an impressive performance taking home second place, finishing just behind winner Davenport University.
Senior Jaiden Metzger (Ft. Wayne, IN/Snider) landed in third place overall to pace the Warrior men, totaling 826 pins over four games for a 206.5 average with a high-score of 232.
Joining him in the top-10 were sophomore Travis Valentine (Leslie, MI/Mason) in seventh place and senior Tony Henry (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) right behind in eighth. Valentine picked up 774 pins and a 193.5 average with a high-game of 254, while Henry totaled 768 pins for a 192.0 average with a high-game of 206.
On the women's side, Tech also placed three bowlers in the top-10.
Freshman Emalee Wiser (Ft. Wayne, IN/Northrop) led the way with 739 pins and a 184.75 average over four games. She posted a high-score of 209.
Close behind Wiser were Rachel Atkins (Columbia City, IN/Columbia City) and Brooke Copenhaver (Auburn, IN/DeKalb). Atkins finished in eighth place, piling up 717 pins for a 179.25 average with a high-game of 203. Copenhaver came in 10th with 694 pins and a 173.5 average with a high-game of 204.
The Warrior bowling teams return to action on Nov. 23-24 for the National Team Match Games in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
