For Immediate Release
Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's track and cross country teams are proud to announce the signing of Marcus Hobbs from Indian Creek High School. Marcus signed a letter of intent this past Friday at Indiana Runner's Distance Showcase, held at Anderson University.
Marcus has personal bests of 4:34 (1600m), 10:12 (3200), and 16:20 (5k). His times make him a candidate for varsity right away. He is the fourth distance recruit to sign on to start competing in the fall of 2012.
"Marcus gives us another talented kid who is passionate about running,” said Coach Wolfe. “His running age is very young which suggests that he has great upside. Once he adapts to the training, he will benefit from having others on our team who are running at his level. We expect that he will make an immediate impact, starting with cross country in the fall of 2012.”
