Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s cross country team is receiving votes in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, announced by the national office on Wednesday.
Tech’s 2012 campaign started with a bang as the men placed first at the Manchester Hokum Karem. The Warriors most recently placed second at the Lansing Invitational, Sept. 28, behind only NCAA DII Saginaw Valley State University.
A large part of this season’s success has been the tremendous work of Aaron Belcher (Mooresville, IN/Mooresville), who was just named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. The junior from Mooresville, Indiana ran a lifetime-best 25:33 to capture the top spot at the Lansing Invitational. The time was the sixth fastest time in Indiana Tech history. It was also the third time in as many races this season that Belcher has paced the team.
The men’s and women’s cross country teams continue their season on Oct. 12 at the Bethel College Invitational in South Bend, Indiana.
