Fort Wayne, Ind. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 203 men’s and 317 women’s cross country student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
The Warriors had two runners, one from the men’s team and one from the women’s, receive recognition for their academic excellence – Aaron Belcher and Aubree Reichel.
Belcher, a junior from Mooresville, Indiana, is an accounting major and Reichel, a senior from Alexandria, Virginia, is a communications major.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution’s head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor.
