MEN | WOMEN | KANSAS CITY, Mo. –The Indiana Tech men’s and women’s cross country teams both moved up in the most recent addition of the NAIA Cross Country Coaches Top 25 as each team moved up one spot from No. 23 to No. 22.
The women’s team gained 16 votes and now sits in 22nd with 206 votes. Two other Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) teams are ranked: No. 16 Cornerstone (333 votes), and No. 20 Aquinas (252 votes).
The men’s team gained five votes and now has 189 overall. Conference rival Aquinas is still running strong holding the No. 3 position with 553 votes.
Both Warrior teams finished 3rd at the Lansing Invitational on Oct. 4, the women finishing behind NCAA Division II program Saginaw Valley State and NAIA No. 16 and WHAC competitor Cornerstone. The men finished behind Division II program Grand Valley State and Division III Hope College.
Senior Aaron Belcher (Mooresville, Ind./Mooresville HS) and junior Laura Condron (London, UK/Central Iowa CC) also earned WHAC Runners of the Week honors for their performance at Lansing. Belcher earned a previous Runner of the Week award this season following his performance at Olivet Nazarene University on Sept. 9.
The Warriors will face additional ranked competition at the NAIA National Preview Meet at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday, Oct. 12.
