MEN | WOMEN | LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The 22nd-ranked Indiana Tech Cross Country teams traveled to the Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. for the NAIA Nationals Preview Meet.
On the women's side, the Warriors were led by junior Laura Condron who finished the five-kilometer race in 19:04 for 17th place overall. Junior Cherie Gaines finished second for Indiana Tech in 19:11.4, just .5 seconds ahead of senior Becca Lamb. Brenna Conger and Ashlee Satterfield rounded out the scoring for the Tech.
The team finished with 250 points, good enough for ninth place behind WHAC members, 20th-ranked Aquinas (seventh) and No. 16 Cornerstone (eighth) and ahead of Central Methodist and No. 25 Indiana Wesleyan.
On the men's side, senior Aaron Belcher finished the eight-kilometer race in ninth with a time of 25:21 while freshman Dylan Dominello came in second for the Warriors in 26:31. Marcus Hobbs and Brenden Zoltek each finished in the 26th minute with Cody Dyer rounding out the scoring for the Orange and Black.
The team finished in ninth place with 276 points; placing behind 24th –ranked Dordt and ahead of No. 21 Southwestern. Third-ranked Aquinas, a WHAC member, won the event with 85 points.
The Warrior harriers will take a week off before competing in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Oct. 26 at 11 a.m.
