KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 32 team field and individual qualifiers for the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships were announced by the national office on Monday and the Indiana Tech men’s and women’s teams will both be present at the event after receiving at-large bids.
The women make the trip to the national championships with a No. 20 ranking, falling seven spots after finishing second at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship meet on Saturday. The Warriors finished behind then No. 21 Cornerstone, who moved up seven spots to finish the season at No. 14 and will also take part in the national championships, receiving the WHAC automatic bid.
On the men’s side, the Warriors will enter the national championship meet at No. 20 after finishing second to WHAC champion, No. 6 Aquinas, who received the automatic bid. These are the only two schools from the WHAC that will be competing at the national championships.
It is the first time under the leadership of Head Coach Josh Wolfe that the Warriors have qualified as a team for the end-of-year event.
The 58th Annual Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships will take place at Rim Rock Farms in Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
