MEN | WOMEN | LAWRENCE, Kan. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Friday that 224 men’s and 295 women’s cross country student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Ashlee Satterfield, Aaron Belcher, Matthew Frisby and Aaron Kimbrell represented the Warriors.
A senior from Marengo, Ind., Satterfield maintains a 3.52 GPA in Business Administration while competing for the Warriors.
Along with leading the team to the National Championship, Belcher, a senior from Mooresville, Ind., also led the team in GPA with a 3.73 mark in Accounting. Firsby, a Butler, Ind. native, averaged a 3.67 GPA his junior season while majoring in Business Administration. Another junior from Muncie, Ind., Kimbrell has maintained a 3.70 GPA in Physical Education.
In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.o scale and must have achieve a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
