Fort Wayne, Ind. – Former Warrior standout pitcher Eric Zagone has recently signed a professional deal with the Joliet Slammers.
Zagone had signed a contract with the White Sands Pupfish of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs earlier this summer. Following a solid season with them, the 6-1 right-hander was picked up by the Slammers.
In two years with the Warriors, Zagone went 15-5 with a 3.74 earned run average, earning back-to-back Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. He finished his Tech career among the all-time school strikeout leaders with 120.
Based in Joliet, Illinois, the Slammers are a professional baseball team that plays in the independent Frontier League.
