Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball announced its 2013 schedule on Thursday. Head Coach Kip McWilliams and his Warriors will open the season with a four-game series against the defending NAIA National Champions Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee on Feb. 16-17.
Indiana Tech will make its yearly trip to Florida from Mar. 12-16, making stops at Warner University, Webber International University, and perennial power Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Warriors will wrap up the trip with a pair of games at Ave Maria University against the Gyrenes and Spring Arbor University.
Upon their return to Fort Wayne, the Warriors will begin a lengthy 14-game homestand, which includes its home opener against Rochester College on Thursday, Mar. 21.
Then, the reigning Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) champions will begin their title defense when they open league play with a four-game set at home against Concordia University on Saturday, Mar. 23.
Highlighting the non-conference slate is the annual trip to Muncie for a tilt against NCAA DI Ball State University on Tuesday, Apr. 16. The following day, Tech will host their crosstown rival University of Saint Francis at Warrior Field under the lights in a 7 p.m. start.
The Warriors conclude the regular season with a series against Davenport University on Apr. 26-27 before WHAC Tournament play begins on May 1 in Adrian, Michigan, where the Warriors will look to make another push for a conference tournament crown.
