For Immediate Release
Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men’s basketball program is proud to announce the signing of Dol Kutey, a 6-7, 210 forward from Lincoln, Nebraska.
Kutey is transferring from NCAA DII Cameron University of the Lone Star Conference. With the Aggies, he averaged five points and six rebounds per game.
Prior to Cameron, Kutey attended Northeastern Nebraska Junior College where he averaged ten points and six boards a night.
At Lincoln Northeast High School, Kutey averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds a game. He was named 1st Team All-State in Nebraska’s largest class, Class A. Additionally, he was also selected to the Kansas-Nebraska “Border Battle” All-Star Game and was rated as the No. 19 prospect in the state prior to his senior year in high school.
“Dol will remind some of former Tech forward, James Hicks,” said head coach Al Grushkin. “He isn’t quite as thick, but has the same long, muscular type build. He is extremely athletic, plays hard and is a very good person. He can be a fine post defender with his quickness, leaping ability and long wing span. He should be a tremendous help and recover guy for us on the baseline defensively and has the potential to be an outstanding rebounder in our league. He does possess scoring skill around the bucket with a jump hook and can step out to shoot the high post jump shot, as well. We are happy he’s chosen to join us at Indiana Tech.”
