The men’s basketball team squared off against the Cornerstone Golden Eagles in a key WHAC contest at the Schaefer Center on Wednesday night, and the Warriors triumphed 86-75 for their sixth win in a row.
For the Warriors, Sadelle Moore was on fire; the senior from Detroit, MI, hit 6 for 7 from3-point range and scorched the Golden Eagles for 22 points. Anthony Johnson (Gary, IN) was also a key contributor with 14 points and 5 boards. The highlight of the night, with the exception of Moore’s performance, was senior Tim Browning (Detroit, MI). Browning achieved a milestone on Wednesday night, scoring his 1,000th career point on the final basket of the game. His signature move on the final basket, a slam dunk! The Golden Eagles were paced by Randy Jefferson (15 pts.) and Caleb Simons (14 pts. and 11 boards). The Warriors are currently in a three way tie with Cornerstone and Davenport for second place in the WHAC.
Next on the agenda is an evening contest with Siena Heights in Adrian, MI, on Saturday, February 14. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. |
