Adrian, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men’s basketball team won its sixth straight game on Saturday night, defeating Siena Heights University 77-45.
Four players scored in double figures for the Warriors while the defense smothered the Saints shooters, holding them to 31 percent shooting and just 4-for-14 from behind the arc.
Meanwhile, Tech was on fire from the floor, hitting a season-high 10 three-pointers with four coming from senior Jordan Hickman (Bardstown, KY/Vincennes) who dropped 20 points to lead all scorers.
Siena Heights (2-8, 2-4 WHAC) led 17-12 at the 11:29 mark, but a 14-2 scoring run put the Warriors in front for good.
After taking a 35-29 lead into halftime, Antonio Cannon (Indianapolis, IN/Ancilla) and Jeff Hoskins (Kalamazoo, MI/Indiana Wesleyan) led Tech on a 6-0 run to begin the second stanza, extending the advantage to double digits.
The lead would balloon to 20 following a triple from Hickman with 8:34 left on the clock and the Warriors would coast to the win.
Tech’s defense came away with 12 steals and forced Siena Heights into 17 turnovers. The Warriors also held the edge in rebounds with 32 compared to the Saints’ 27.
Hickman’s 20 points tied his career-high while adding four assists and three steals. Antonio Landers (Monroe, LA/John Wood) poured in 15 points, grabbed five boards, and dished out four assists. Melvin Brooks (Memphis, TN/Marion Military) and Kody Chandler (Schoolcraft, MI/Goshen) finished with 13 points apiece. Brooks also rejected four shots and ripped down seven rebounds.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Dec. 15 when they meet Lourdes University in Adrian, Michigan at Adrian College.
