Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech’s Antonio Cannon (Indianapolis, IN/Ancilla) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Player of the Week for men’s basketball.
Cannon averaged 19 points and six rebounds per game to help guide the team to a 2-0 record last week, which moved the 20th ranked Warriors into a first place tie at the top of the conference standings.
The 5-foot-11 senior guard from Indianapolis matched his career-high with 20 points in an 81-35 win against Marygrove College and followed it up with an 18 point performance in the 68-64 victory at University of Northwestern Ohio.
Cannon is currently the team’s leading scorer averaging 13.7 points per game and leads the WHAC in field goal percentage, shooting over 51 percent from the floor.
Indiana Tech will face three consecutive Top 25 ranked conference opponents beginning with No. 24 Cornerstone University on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Schaefer Center.
