Fort Wayne, Ind. – Senior Antonio Cannon (Indianapolis, IN/Ancilla) poured in a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers and fueled a sizzling first half shooting performance by the Warriors in a 70-60 win over Aquinas College in the Schaefer Center on Saturday.

The victory improved Indiana Tech to 17-6 overall and 10-5 in conference play while Aquinas dipped to 10-13 and 8-7 in the WHAC.

Warrior Head Coach Al Grushkin has now won six out of the seven games against the Saints since taking over the team before the 2010-11 season.

Jordan Hickman (Bardstown, KY/Vincennes) and Melvin Brooks (Memphis, TN/Marion Military) got the Warriors off to a great start, combining for 11 points before Antonio Landers (Monroe, LA/John Wood) sank a three to put Tech in front 14-2 just over six minutes into the game.

The Warriors made eight of their first nine shots from the floor to pull ahead 21-8 midway through the first half. Cannon would then score 13 points over the final eight minutes of the period to give Tech a 38-27 lead at halftime.

Through the first 20 minutes of action, Tech shot 68 percent, including 5-for-10 from behind the arc, while the Saints struggled, making only 37 percent of their shots and just 1-for-9 from three-point range.

Aquinas closed the gap to six, 39-33, early in the second half before Cannon and Landers fueled an 18-5 run to blow the game wide open. The Warriors would cruise from there to their third straight victory.

Cannon finished the afternoon 10-for-16 from the floor and added eight rebounds to his 25 points. Landers also turned in a season-best performance with 16 points and five rebounds. Brooks followed with 13 points and seven boards while Hickman had 10 points and seven assists.

Indiana Tech will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 29 for a conference matchup with Concordia University beginning at 7:30 p.m.
