FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Tech men’s basketball currently holds a 6-4 overall season record, but behind the scenes, boasts more than just a winning record. The Warriors are rising in the rankings concerning their defensive game.
Indiana Tech ranks eighth in NAIA Division II in the most recent Massey Rating, which combines all aspects of defense and combines them into one all-encompassing rating. The Warriors received a rating of 8.12. They are second in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, behind Lourdes who came in second in the rankings.
After their first ten games, the Warriors are also ranked in the top-20 in four NAIA II defensive categories. The Warriors are ranked highest in scoring defense per game (63.300) where they rank ninth. The team is 10th in field goal percentage defense (.392), 11th in three-point field goal percentage defense (.284), and 18th in total blocks (33).
Warriors Head Coach Al Grushkin and his stiff defense will hit the road tomorrow when they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Concordia at 7:30 p.m.
