Dan Kline will return to the court named in his honor as assistant coach for the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team. Kline retired as the university’s athletic director and vice president of student life in April 2008, and the court in the Schaefer Center gym was dedicated as Kline Court in September 2008.
Kline’s previous tenure at Indiana Tech spanned nearly 30 years. He originally joined Indiana Tech as athletic director and men’s basketball coach in 1980. Kline coached the men’s basketball team from 1980 to 1998. He returned to the court to coach the women’s team from 2004 to 2006.
Prior to joining Tech, Kline held multiple coaching and director positions at Stryker High School in Ohio. He has earned multiple Coach of the Year awards as well as special athletic awards over the span of his career. Kline was inducted into the Indiana Tech Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
