Kentwood, MI – The Warriors placed third in the first WHAC event of the year hosted by Davenport University at Stonewater Country Club on Wednesday. The Panthers won shooting a 293, followed by Madonna University with a 297.
Indiana Tech, as a team, shot a 305 just eight back of the first place Panthers. The Warriors were led by senior Chris McMahan (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty HS) who finished sixth overall shooting a 2-over, 73. Fellow senior Mike Kasperski (Coldwater, MI/Coldwater HS) finished in a tie for 12th with a 76 and Mark Beneke (Fort Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger HS) and Nick Quick (Portage, IN/Portage HS) both tied for 18th with 78’s.
The first place finisher, Cam Thomas from Davenport, shot a 2-under 69 for the round.
The men’s golf team is back in action September 13-14 at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational at Meshingomesia Country Club.
