Canton, MI – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team finished second on Saturday at WHAC Jamboree 2 behind strong efforts from senior Mike Kasperski (Coldwater, MI/Coldwater HS) and freshman Cleo Trumbull (Waterville, OH/Anthony Wayne HS). Tech turned in a team score of 305 but Madonna University finished ahead of the Warriors by 13 shots with a score of 292. Davenport rounded out the top three with a 307.
Kasperski led the way for the Warriors firing a one-under par, 71, finishing in a tie for first place overall and Trumbull was right behind him turning in a 72.
Senior Mark Beneke (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger HS) shot an 80, finishing in a tie for 28th place and Alex Bunner (Ft. Wayne, IN/Northrop HS) and Brandon Curl (Marengo, IN/Crawford County HS) both turned in an 82 and Chris McMahan (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty HS) carded an 84.
Indiana Tech currently sits in third place in the conference standings behind Madonna and Davenport halfway through the season. The third jamboree will be hosted by Cornerstone University on September 27 and the final one hosted by Siena Heights will be on October 2.
