Cedarville, OH – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team finished second on Tuesday at the Cedarville University Invitational. The Warriors led after the first round by five strokes but couldn’t hold off Huntington University on day two. The Foresters shot a team score of 610 followed by Tech with a 623 and Cedarville University rounded out the top 3 with a 634.
The Warriors placed two in the Top 10, senior Mike Kasperski (Coldwater, MI/Coldwater HS) and junior Nick Quick (Portage, IN/Portage HS). Kasperski turned in a 77 in round one and a 75 in round two, finishing with a 152, putting him in a tie for fourth place overall. Quick finished tied for seventh after shooting a 78 and 75.
Mark Beneke (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger HS) carded scores of 81 and 76 to finish in a tie for 12th place. Brandon Curl (Marengo, IN/Crawford County HS) was right behind him with a 74/84. Curl’s 74 was second best after the opening round.
Freshman Cleo Trumbull (Waterville, OH/Anthony Wayne HS) finished in 39th place after shooting rounds of 77 and 88. Alex Bunner (Ft. Wayne, IN/Northrop HS) tied for 53rd turning in rounds of 90 and 83.
The Warriors are back in action October 9-10 at Deer Creek GC in Clayton, IN.
