Evans, GA – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team opened their spring season at the Paine College Invitational on March 17-18 and finished in second place. The Warriors had a great first round on Thursday turning in a team score of 311, just three shots off the leader Southern Wesleyan. Tech fired a 310 on Friday with a two day total of 621, but fell just short as Southern Wesleyan finished with a 614.
Seniors Mike Kasperski (Coldwater, MI/Coldwater) and Mark Beneke (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) led the Warriors, turning in rounds of 154. Kasperski shot a 75 on day one and a followed it up with a 79 while Beneke fired an opening day 74 and an 80 in the second round.
Up next, Indiana Tech will host the Thrill at the Hill tournament on March 28-29. The tournament will be played at the Donald Ross Hill Course in French Lick, Indiana.
