Fort Wayne, IN – Indiana Tech’s Mark Beneke has been selected as this week’s Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for his outstanding performance at Indiana Tech’s Thrill at the Hill tournament held at the Donald Ross Hill Course in French Lick.
The senior from Fort Wayne helped lead the Warriors to a fourth place finish out the 12 teams competing. Beneke shot a 76 in round one and followed it up firing a season-best 73 in round two to shoot a 149 for the tournament. His 149 tied him for first place overall with Holy Cross’ Eric Hartstein, but Hartstein was the playoff winner to take home top honors. This was Beneke’s second Top 5 finish of the 2010-11 year.
The Warriors will be back in action on April 8-9 when the University of St. Francis hosts at Cobblestone GC and Noble Hawk GC in Kendallville, IN.
