Grand Rapids, MI – The Indiana Tech men’s golf scored a 322 to place sixth out of the nine teams competing in the first WHAC Jamboree of the year hosted by Aquinas College at The Highlands Golf Club. Davenport University won the event with a 295 while Siena Heights University and Madonna University followed with scores of 300 and 304 respectively.
The Warriors were led by senior Mark Beneke (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) who tied for 16th place with a 78. Fellow senior Nick Quick (Portage, IN/Portage) was right behind him, firing a 79 tying him for 21st place.
Freshman Tom Kocks (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) carded an 82 putting him in 31st place overall and junior Ryne Gurney (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) finished tied for 32nd after turning in an 83.
The Warriors are back in action on September 19 for WHAC Jamboree 2 hosted by the University of Northwestern Ohio at the Colonial Golfers Club in Lima, Ohio.
