Canton, MI – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team wrapped up their fall conference schedule on Thursday at WHAC Jamboree #4 finishing in a tie for third place shooting a 313. Davenport University took home top honors for the third time this season with a team score of 306 with Siena Heights University three shots back with a 309.
With the win, Davenport clinched the right to host the WHAC spring championship match where conference teams will play to determine the league's automatic berth to the NAIA Championships.
Freshman Tom Kocks (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) notched his first top-5 finish of the season, tying for 5th place with a 77 to pace the Warriors while fellow rookie Nate Kolmerten (New Haven, IN/New Haven) shot a season-best 78 to tie for 9th.
Junior Ryne Gurney (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) and senior Nick Quick (Portage, IN/Portage) followed with matching 79’s to finish tied for 16th to round out the Tech scoring.
The Warriors are off until October 10-11 when they travel to Pineville, Kentucky for the Union College Bulldog Invitational at Wasioto Winds Golf Club.
