Pineville, KY – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team shot a two round total of 608 to place 5th at the Union College Fall Invitational held at Wasioto Winds Golf Club. Union captured the top spot shooting a 589 with Reinhardt University placing 2nd with a 600 followed by the University of the Cumberlands and the Cumberlands B team, both with 604’s.
Senior Nick Quick (Portage, IN/Portage) earned All-Tournament Team honors after shooting a 145 to finish tied for 3rd. Quick shot an even par in the opening round and came back with a one-over 73 in round two to lead the Warriors.
Fellow senior Mark Beneke (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Dwenger) finished in 15th place, turning in rounds of 76 and 77 to end with a two round total of 153. Freshman Tom Kocks (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) followed close behind in T-20th shooting a 156 (79/77) and Ryne Gurney (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) finished tied for 23rd with a 158 (76/82).
The Warriors will cap off their fall schedule at the Ashford University Invitational in East Moline, Illinois on October 17-18.
