Sylvania, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men’s golf team turned in one of their best outings of the season on Friday, shooting a 315 at the fourth and final WHAC Jamboree, hosted by Lourdes University at Sylvania Country Club.
The Warriors tied for second place with the University of Northwestern Ohio and were 13 shots back of the winner Davenport University. Today’s win also secured the WHAC regular season championship for the Panthers. It is their fifth title in the last seven years.
Davenport will now host the spring event to determine the conference’s automatic bid to the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship in Salem, Oregon.
Leading the Warriors were sophomores Tom Kocks (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) and Nate Kolmerten (New Haven, IN/New Haven). The duo fired matching five-over 77’s to tie for sixth place overall.
Kocks and Kolmerten were named First Team All-Conference following the event.
Right behind them were freshmen Ethan Galloway (French Lick, IN/Springs Valley) and Tyler Willette (Collingwood, Ont./Collingwood Collegiate) in 14th and 17th place to round out the scoring for the Warriors. Galloway shot an 80 while Willette carded an 81.
The Warriors finished the WHAC regular season in fourth place.
